Service Dog Onsite: July 3rd to 12th
I have the privilege of being the secondary handler (aka dog sitter) to a remarkable working service dog named Indus. This month, Indus's primary handler is taking a holiday, which means Indus will be providing his valuable services at our clinic! Indus is a legally certified facility support service dog, trained to offer assistance in various situations across different facilities.
Indus will be at the clinic intermittently from July 3rd to 12th. If you have any allergies to dogs or are fearful of them, please let me know as soon as possible, and we will make different accommodations for Indus.
Please remember not to feed Indus any treats. Due to the nature of his work, unlike most other service dogs, he will be able to interact with you and will likely take an epic nap during your massage.
If you have any questions, you can contact me via email or text. If you would like to learn more about facility service dogs click here.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage
In late August, I will be taking a course on Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD). While MLD has been around for quite some time, it fell out of fashion; however, recent studies have sparked renewed interest in its effectiveness, particularly post-surgery.
If you would like to learn more, the American Massage Therapy Association has several informative blogs on the subject here.
As always, when I complete new training, I offer sessions at a greatly reduced rate for a limited time. This allows me to practice consistently at the beginning, truly assimilate my training, and gives you the opportunity to try a new therapy at a lower cost! More details will be available in my August newsletter.
Whyte Ave Art Walk: July 12th to 14th
The Whyte Ave Art Walk is happening from July 12th to 14th! If you haven't attended before, I highly recommend checking it out. Due to increased traffic and some road closures near Whyte Ave, I suggest allowing extra time to get to your appointment if you are traveling from the north to our clinic. Typically, parking is not greatly affected, and as always, we have free weekend parking at our neighbor's business, Alberta Stamp and Marking Co.
You can check out all the information including road closures here.
