Service Dog Onsite: August 10th to 18th

Indus will be back with us this month! If you missed July's newsletter, I've included the information about Indus's visit last month:

I have the privilege of being the secondary handler (aka dog sitter) to a remarkable working service dog named Indus. This month, Indus's primary handler is taking a holiday, which means Indus will be providing his valuable services at our clinic! Indus is a legally certified facility support service dog, trained to offer assistance in various situations across different facilities.

Indus will be at the clinic intermittently from August 10th to 18th. If you have any allergies to dogs or are fearful of them, please let me know as soon as possible, and we will make different accommodations for Indus.

If you have any questions, you can contact me via email or text. To learn more about facility service dogs click here.

Discover the Benefits of Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)

From August 22nd to 25th, I'll be gaining a new certification - Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) through Dr. Vodder School International. This technique can be fantastic for reducing inflammation, clearing out toxins and waste products, and promoting overall healing in the body. MLD works by stimulating the lymphatic system, which may boost the immune function and help the body recover more efficiently.

One of the best parts of MLD is its calming effect on the nervous system. By reducing the body's fight-or-flight response, it allows for a deep sense of relaxation and may significantly reduces stress symptoms.

Starting August 26th, I'm excited to offer my clients an opportunity to try out Manual Lymphatic Drainage at a special promotional rate:

  • $35 for 30 minutes

  • $70 for 60 minutes

  • $105 for 90 minutes

This special offer is available until the end of September. If you're curious to learn more about MLD, Physiopedia has great resources here

Please note that there are a few conditions for which MLD is not recommended:

  • Acute cellulitis

  • Active Infection

  • Severe cardiac insufficiency

  • Liver cirrhosis

  • Unstable hypertension

  • Kidney failure

  • Untreated tuberculosis or malaria

  • Superior vena cava obstruction

Edmonton Fringe Festival – My Favorite Festival in Edmonton!

The Edmonton Fringe Festival is back from August 15th to 25th! This is truly my favorite festival in Edmonton, and it's always a highlight of the summer.

Earlier this year, the Fringe Theatre shared some important information about sustaining the Edmonton Fringe Festival. Like many non-profits and arts-driven organizations, Fringe Edmonton is facing some challenges. I want to encourage everyone to attend the Fringe and help make this year one of their best yet! You can read more here.

Tickets will be on sale starting August 7th, so don't miss out on this incredible event. Remember, 100% of ticket proceeds go directly to the artists. This is one of the biggest events for all performing artists throughout Edmonton and Canada.
