Jennifer's Top 5 Things You Should Do This Year

Well, we did it! We all make it through 2022! Here is to a wonderful 2023!

I've seen so many social media posts, lists, articles and blogs about the top 5 things you should do this year so I thought I would write my own for you all.

Jennifer's Top 5 Things You Should Do This Year

1. Make self-care a priority. Get a massage (I'm biased) or anything else you find nourishing to make these activities a priority. It doesn't take much time each day to make a big difference. Five minutes of meditation or breathwork, a quick 20-minute walk around the block, or whatever you can do without stressing yourself out. Some days I am able and excited to go to hot yoga or take a hike but some days a hot bath and a good book are all I have the energy for.

2. Learn something new. If you can finish this sentence "I've always wanted to .... or I've always wanted to learn about..." then go out there and do it!

3. Try things that scare you. I can not tell you how many people over the years have come for their first massage and admitted that they are scared of getting a massage. By the end of the massage, each one of them always states something to the effect of "I can't believe I waited this long to get a massage!" I think it is amazing to challenge yourself.

4. Set good goals by creating a good plan. A perfect example of this is so many of my clients and sometimes myself have benefits left at the end of the year. Create a plan on how to use your benefits, whether it's every 4 weeks or 6 or even 8 weeks it doesn't matter. Then follow through with that plan. This works for me as sometimes I forget to book myself a massage and before I know it it's been two months and I haven't had a treatment.

5. Ignore all the lists, blogs and articles (including this one!) if the advice doesn't work for you!  If you hate jogging don't start jogging. Do what makes you happy and want to keep doing it. We only get a limited amount of time in this life, go live it the exact way you want to!

In all honesty, this is my personal New Years List this year. I like to sit down and create themes for myself each year, expanding from years previous.

Herbal Self-Care Offerings

I can't believe how amazing the reception of my self-care creations has been this past month. I literally can barely keep some of these products on the shelf! I will continue to stock:

Shower Steamers - Eucalyptus and Winter Dream Scents
Soothing Salve
Decongesting Rub
Bandits Formula
Warming Foot Soak
Menthol Chest Rub
Botanical Bath Salts

I am always working on and trying out new creations. My favourite right now is the Botanical Bath Salts I've fondly called Fountain of Youth. Set in a base of Epsom Salts I've added lemon balm, red clover blossoms, hibiscus flowers and cornflowers. All of the herbs are wonderfully nourishing for your skin, and boast numerous anti-aging properties.

I look forward to seeing you all this year and thank you from the bottom of my heart for making 2022 a wonderful year for me. Your support and appreciation always floors me.

See you soon!

Jennifer
